about us

Cumorah Credit
Union was organized on
October 10, 1965 to serve
the financial needs of
members of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter Day
Saints residing in the
Paradise and East Stakes.
Thomas L. Adams was the
first President of the
credit union.
Thirty people
attended the first annual
meeting.
The credit union
changed locations several
times during the first few
years and for a time in 1970
was actually ran from the
manager's personal
residence. In 1970, the
credit union began its real
estate loan program which
today is one of our most
valued services. In 1972,
the credit union reached it
first of many milestones -
$1 million in assets.
In 1974, the credit
union purchased the land on
which the main office is now
located at 3990 S. Eastern
Avenue. The building in
which the credit union is
now housed was built in
1990.
In March of 1979,
the credit union applied for
and received a state charter
from the state of Nevada
which remains in effect
today. Because of our state
charter, the credit union is
able to offer private
deposit insurance. Today,
credit union deposits are
insured by American Share
Insurance up to $250,000 per
account.
In 1985, the credit
union was able to add the
Green Valley area stakes to
its field of membership and
in 1993, the stakes from the
West side of town were added
to our field of membership.
Our first branch
office opened on May 9, 1994
at Rainbow and Oakey to
serve the many new members
eligible for membership. The
branch was located in a
strip mall. Today, this
branch is located at 7650
West Sahara and includes
ATM's and a drive thru area.
Our second branch
opened on October 7, 1995 at
1905 Green Valley Parkway to
meet increasing member
demands in the ever growing
Green Valley area.
Today, Cumorah
Credit Union has five
branch locations and serves
over 12,000 members.
